Contour Portrait

Here is my contour portrait. I enjoyed this assignment, although it was a little challenging drawing from a mirror!

Paper Bag

Here are some pictures of my two drawings. For the first one I crumpled up the bag, but this was very challenging and frustrating. For the second one I chose a larger bag and did not crumble it.

For this I placed  the objects on the stairs and sat below.

Another go at it. This time I tried to make the objects larger.

Color

Fall Tree:

The background colors are an analogous color scheme (blue and green) tied in with the frame (purple). The  leaves in the foreground are complementary color schemes with the background colors (green and red, blue and orange). It was a nice change of pace to finally work with color!

Collage!

This took some time, but I thought it came out looking pretty cool.

Still Life

My three still life(s). I thought they got better each time.

Prints and Rubbings

I hope I did these right!

                                                Prints of a cotton ball dipped in black paint.

                          Finger "prints". I dipped my fingers in black paint and made finger prints!

                           Crackers dipped in black paint. I thought these looked rather like snowflakes.

                          Rubbings done with a quarter with charcoal, pencil and conte crayon.

This was hard. The square shapes were definitely more difficult than the rounded shapes. In the end the picture looked like scribbles.

Tea Pot: Ink

                                I accidentally dripped ink on the paper. It makes it unique, at least.

                                                       For my last one I tried a calligraphic line, with a few free, thick strokes. It didn't come out all that well, but it was interesting to try.

This is another one of my favorites. I tried to make it sing.
