I like the use of the pastel colors in this painting, and the light, yet down to earth, quality of the portrayal. To me, this picture seems more like subjective drawing, not accurate enough to be pictorial, for it seems to suggest a more dream like quality (hence the fairies!), and represents the pleasure and child-like innocence as both fairy and mouse observe each other, flowers and lady bugs, and really just the beautiful creation around them.
